Phillies optioned RHP Alan Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel returns to the minors to make room for veteran reliever David Robertson after registering a solid 2.45 ERA across 11 innings (five appearances) this season at the big-league level.

Phillies recalled RHP Alan Rangel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel rejoins Philadelphia’s relief mix ahead of Tuesday’s contest against the Red Sox with veteran Joe Ross heading to the injured list with back spasms. The 27-year-old righty has made only two relief appearances this season at the big-league level.

Phillies optioned RHP Alan Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel is the victim of his own success, as he threw five scoreless innings Friday, and now Philadelphia needs a fresh arm in the bullpen. That arm will be Daniel Robert. Rangel will likely be back in the coming weeks.

Phillies recalled RHP Alan Rangel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel joins Philadelphia’s relief mix ahead of Sunday night’s series finale against the Mets as additional long relief insurance. The 27-year-old righty allowed two runs over three innings back on June 6 in his big-league debut.

Phillies optioned RHP Alan Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel returns to the minors after spending roughly 24 hours with the Phillies. The positive news is that he made his big-league debut on Friday night, allowing two runs over three innings in relief against the Pirates.

Phillies recalled RHP Alan Rangel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel will get a chance to make his MLB debut if/when he gets into a game. It’s very likely that it’ll be as a multi-inning reliever in a low-leverage situation if it does take place.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #51
Phillies optioned RHP Seth Johnson and RHP Alan Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley; reassigned RHP Nick Padilla to minor league camp.
Johnson was torched for nine runs over 2 1/3 innings last September in his big-league debut, which unsurprisingly was his lone start for the Phillies. The 26-year-old righty will open the year back at Triple-A as extra starting pitching depth.

Phillies selected the contract of RHP Alan Rangel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rangel signed a minor league pact with the Phillies back in mid-July and has been officially added to the club’s 40-man roster. The 27-year-old righty has yet to reach the majors, but that could wind up changing next season.

Phillies signed RHP Alan Rangel to a minor league contract.
Rangel finds his way to Philadelphia just a few weeks after being released by the Angels. The 26-year-old right-hander, who was a notable pitching prospect a few years ago with the Braves, represents an interesting addition for the division-rival Phillies. He’s yet to reach the majors, but has posted a sparkling 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 25/5 K/BB ratio across 20 2/3 innings (four starts) this season at the Double-A level.

Angels re-assigned RHPs Travis MacGregor, Joel Hurtado, Jose Marte, Carmen Minacci, Alan Rangel and Hayden Sieg, LHPs Nick Jones, Cs Juan Flores and Zach Humphreys, INF Evan White and OFs Nelson Rada and Alberto Rios to minor league camp.
Nothing too surprising among this first large batch of cuts for the Angels. MacGregor, 26, was in camp as a non-roster invitee after posting a respectable 3.82 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and an 84/31 K/BB ratio over 77 2/3 innings between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis for the Pirates in 2023. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him debut in Los Angeles during the upcoming season.
