Phillies reassigned INFs Carson DeMartini, Aroon Escobar, and Bryan Rincon and OF Dylan Campbell to minor league camp.
None of them is older than 23 years old or has played any minor league ball above Double-A, so they were highly unlikely to force their way onto the 40-man roster. Campbell is the team’s 19th-ranked prospect, according to FanGraph’s rankings, while Rincon ranks 28th, and Escobar ranks 4th. Escobar is just 21 years old and should begin this season in Double-A.

Phillies promoted 2B/3B prospect Aroon Escobar to High-A Jersey Shore.
Escobar has blossomed into one of the more intriguing prospects in the dynasty landscape this season, slashing .285/.377/.452 with 11 homers and 10 steals across 69 games for Low-A Clearwater. The 20-year-old infield prospect has posted some impressive exit velocity data this season and has struck out only 16 percent of the time in 316 plate appearances. He’s a top-50 prospect for dynasty purposes heading into the All-Star break.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman
Phillies 2B/3B prospect Aroon Escobar went 5-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday for Low-A Clearwater.
One of the fastest-rising prospects in the dynasty landscape this season, Escobar has been tearing the cover off the ball, hitting .328/.429/.573 with eight homers and one steal through 33 games at Low-A Clearwater. The 20-year-old makes a ton of hard contact with above-average exit velocity data relative to his age and level and boasts impressive long-term power potential. There’s a legitimate chance he’s a top-25 range prospect for dynasty purposes by midseason.
