It sounds like the Mets want to give Scott some extra rest before he takes the ball again during Thursday’s series finale. The 26-year-old was excellent his last time out, holding San Diego scoreless over 5 2/3 innings. It’ll be Austin Warren kicking off a bullpen game against St. Louis on Wednesday.

Warren has been extremely effective out of the bullpen with a 1.40 ERA, but the 30-year-old has not worked more than two innings in any of his relief appearances in 2026. He likely will give way to a bulk pitcher at some point, or it will just be a straight bullpen game.

Warren has allowed one run on two hits in 3 2/3 innings for the Mets so far this season and has a 2.77 ERA in 61 2/3 career MLB innings across six seasons. He’ll provide depth out of the bullpen for the time being.

Warren will provide some pitching depth for the twin billing. Nolan McLean will start the first game of the doubleheader, and Kodai Senga will get game two.

Warren gets the call to replace an injured Joey Gerber (blister) in New York’s bullpen. The 30-year-old righty, who has made 43 appearances in the big leagues since 2021, will operate in middle relief for the Mets.

Warren had a strong showing during Grapefruit League action, compiling a 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio across five innings in his five appearances. He’ll almost assuredly get a chance to work out of the Mets’ bullpen at some point during the 2026 season.

Warren through four scoreless innings in Sunday’s 12-4 loss to the Giants, guaranteeing that he’d be swapped out for a fresh arm. He’s allowed one run in 9 1/3 innings for the Mets this season.

Warren rejoins New York’s relief corps for Sunday’s game against the Giants. The 29-year-old righty has pitched well in four relief appearances this season at the big-league level.

Warren’s latest stint with the Mets lasted roughly 48 hours as he heads back to the minors to make room for Sean Manaea to be activated from the injured list.
