    Tigers released RHP Brendan White.
White hasn’t pitched in the majors since the 2023 season when he made 33 appearances for Detroit. The 26-year-old righty has been cut loose after struggling to an inflated 7.24 ERA across 32 1/3 innings (27 appearances) this season for Triple-A Toledo.
  • DET Left Fielder #60
Tigers reassigned OF Akil Baddoo, INF/OF Bligh Madris, RHP Jordan Balazovic, RHP Brendan White, LHP Dietrich Enns, LHP Matt Gage, INF Andrew Navigato and C Brian Serven to minor league camp.
Baddoo likely would’ve made Detroit’s season-opening roster as their starting right fielder, in the wake of Parker Meadow’s nerve-related arm injury, had he not undergone surgery last month to repair a hamate fracture in his right hand. No other real surprises here among the latest round of cuts from Tigers camp, but several of the pitchers have a shot to make it to the Motor City in middle relief roles..

Tigers re-signed RHP Brendan White to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
White finds himself back with the Tigers just a few weeks after being non-tendered by the club. The 26-year-old righty missed nearly all of last season due to elbow issues and eventually underwent a hydrodissection procedure back in August to address a nerve issue.
  • FA Shortstop #51
Tigers non-tendered INF Eddys Leonard, RHP Ricky Vanasco and RHP Brendan White.
All three players had been designated for assignment on Tuesday as the Tigers attempted to clear some room on their 40-man roster, so it’s not shocking that none of the players were tendered contracts. Leonard actually had a decent season in 67 games at Triple-A Toledo in 2024 — hitting .263/.326/.455 with 10 homers, 26 RBI and seven swipes in 282 plate appearances — but never got an opportunity at the big-league level. It may need to be a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training, but Leonard shouldn’t have any difficulty finding another opportunity.

Tigers designated RHP Ricky Vanasco, INF Eddys Leonard and RHP Brendan White for assignment.
It’s a bit of housekeeping for Detroit as they manage to clear three spots on their 40-man roster to shield some of their better prospects from next month’s Rule 5 Draft.

Tigers recalled RHP Brendan White from Double-A Erie and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right elbow sprain.
Pretty sneaky, sis. White is able to be removed from the 40-man roster with the injury designation. That clears room for Kerry Carpenter, who was activated off the 60-day injured list Tuesday. White will have a chance — if healthy — to compete for a spot in the Detroit bullpen next year
  • DET Starting Pitcher #96
Tigers optioned RHP Brendan White to Triple-A Toledo; reassigned RHPs Jackson Jobe, Garrett Hill, Ty Madden, LHP Brant Hurter and C Eliezer Alfonzo to minor league camp.
No surprises here as Jobe, who will make his spring debut on Tuesday against the Twins, was already told that he wasn’t going to make Detroit’s Opening Day roster. The 21-year-old top pitching prospect figures to reach the big leagues at some point this season, if he continues to excel in the upper minors.

Brendan White has been cleared for all baseball activities after dealing with elbow soreness.
Good news for the Tigers. White was dealing with this soreness over the past two weeks but will now be back on the mound shortly. The 25-year-old made 33 appearances for Detroit last season where he posted a 5.09 ERA with a 44/15 K/BB ratio.

Brendan White is dealing with right elbow soreness.
Not great. White has been temporarily shut down from his throwing program after experiencing posterior elbow discomfort. It’s not the worst-case scenario as there should be some additional clarity on his status once he’s cleared to resume throwing. If he’s still experiencing discomfort or soreness at that point he’ll likely head for additional testing.

Tigers optioned RHP Brendan White to Triple-A Toledo.
White heads back to the minors to open up a roster spot for pitching prospect Brenan Hanifee ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The 24-year-old right-hander has made 33 appearances (two starts) this season in the majors, compiling a lackluster 5.09 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 44/15 K/BB ratio across 40 2/3 innings of work.
