Giants signed RHP Brent Honeywell Jr. to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Honeywell is a former top prospect who has battled extensive elbow injuries. The 30-year-old reliever didn’t pitch anywhere last year after excelling for the Dodgers back in 2024, registering a 2.63 ERA over 34 1/3 innings. He’ll most likely wind up at Triple-A Sacramento as organizational depth but will compete for a spot in the club’s bullpen this spring.

Dodgers non-tendered RHP Brent Honeywell Jr. and LHP Zach Logue.
Logue belongs on a minor league contract, but Honeywell seemed like a guy who might fit into the Dodgers pen next year after a nice finish with the team last season (2.62 ERA in 34 1/3 innings). Perhaps he’ll stay on a non-roster deal, but he should draw some interest.

Dodgers placed RHP Brent Honeywell on the 10-day injured list with a cracked right middle fingernail.
Honeywell had a 2.63 ERA in 20 appearances for the Dodgers this year. With the playoffs fast approaching, it’s unclear if he will pitch again this year even if the Dodgers advance deep into the playoffs.

Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Brent Honeywell from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
With Joe Kelly (shoulder) landing on the injured list on Friday, Honeywell will get another opportunity to work out of the Dodgers’ bullpen. He has pitched well in his limited action there thus far, registering a 2.21 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 12/4 K/BB ratio across his 20 1/3 innings of work.

Dodgers sent RHP Brent Honeywell outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
It certainly qualifies as a mild surprise that Honeywell went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment over the weekend. The 29-year-old right-hander will presumably stick around with the Dodgers as emergency relief depth after posting a solid 2.21 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 12/4 K/BB ratio across 20 1/3 innings (10 appearances) for Los Angeles.

Dodgers designated RHP Brent Honeywell for assignment.
Honeywell is off the 40-man and active roster, and the Dodgers needed room on both to select the contract of right-hander Ben Casparius. Honeywell is a former top prospect who has flashed at times, but unfortunately is just a depth arm at this stage of his career. He’ll now be on the waiver wire for teams interested in that depth.

Brent Honeywell hurled a scoreless ninth to pick up a save against the Giants on Thursday.
It’s worth noting that Evan Phillips worked in the seventh inning for the Dodgers on Thursday, and he pitched well with a scoreless inning, no walks and a strikeout. Los Angeles turned to Honeywell for the save chance, and the right-hander allowed just one hit while picking up a strikeout himself. Honeywell can’t be counted on for saves going forward, so his fantasy value remains limited in his relief role.

Making his Dodgers debut, Brent Honeywell Jr. pitched three scoreless innings Sunday in a start against the Tigers.
Honeywell was working in relief in the Pirates organization, so this is the first time this year that he’s completed three innings. He allowed just one hit, walked none and struck out two, which should ensure that he sticks around after the break, probably as a reliever.

Brent Honeywell Jr. will start a bullpen game against the Tigers on Sunday.
Honeywell was just claimed off waivers from the Pirates on Saturday and will quickly be thrown into the mix for his Dodgers’ debut. He’s expected to throw around 40 pitches, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. There’s no fantasy value to be had here.

Dodgers claimed RHP Brent Honeywell off waivers from the Pirates.
Los Angeles has quickly gobbled up Honeywell off waivers after he was designated for assignment on Friday by Pittsburgh. The 29-year-old former top prospect, who spent most of last year with the division-rival Padres, will bolster the Dodgers’ organizational relief depth moving forward. He’s out of minor-league options, so he’s going to be jumping directly into Los Angeles’ bullpen.
