Nick Allen will start at second base and bat ninth on Wednesday against the Nationals.
With Ozzie Albies (hamate) out for the season, Atlanta seems to be settling on a platoon at second base. Brett Wisely will start against right-handed pitchers, and Nick Allen will start against lefties. Neither should be trust in fantasy leagues.

Braves recalled INF Brett Wisely from Triple-A Gwinnett.
With Ozzie Albies (hamate) done for the season, the Braves will call up Wisely, who hit .208/.269/.354 in 54 plate appearances for the Giants earlier this season. Wisely hits left-handed, so he could spend the final week of the season as the strong side of a platoon with Nick Allen or perhaps Atlanta will move Nacho Alvarez Jr. to second base and give Vidal Brujan more playing time at third base.

Braves claimed INF Brett Wisely off of waivers from the Giants and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Wisely had been designated for assignment on Monday. The 26-year-old infielder slashed a disappointing .208/.269/.354 with one homer, 10 RBI and one swipe in 54 plate appearances with the Giants this season. He’ll add infield depth for the Braves.

Giants designated INF Brett Wisely for assignment.
Wisely will be the answer to a trivia question in the Bay Area someday if top prospect Bryce Eldridge winds up reaching his lofty ceiling as a power-hitting middle-of-the-order cornerstone.

Giants optioned INF Brett Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento.
Wisely heads back to the minors with rookie Christian Koss set to return from the injured list.
  • SF 2nd Baseman #49
Giants optioned 2B Tyler Fitzgerald to Triple-A Sacramento.
Fitzgerald, who was batting .230/.289/.320 in 200 plate appearances, finally began losing some time at second base last week, though he started the last two games against the Red Sox and helped the Giants win yesterday with a successful squeeze bunt. It’s a little surprising to see him get sent down now, but it did figure that the Giants would turn to Casey Schmitt at second base following Matt Chapman’s return. Brett Wisely and Christian Koss could platoon until then.

Giants recalled INF Brett Wisely from Triple-A Sacramento.
The 26-year-old infielder will add some depth to the Giants’ bench over the weekend while Justin Verlander is away on paternity leave. Wisely is hitless in 10 at-bats with the Giants this season, though he does have a pair of RBI.

Giants optioned INF Brett Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento.
Wisely, 26, went 0-for-10 with three strikeouts in sporadic playing time with the Giants. He’ll return to an everyday role at Triple-A Sacramento. Tyler Fitzgerald was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Friday.

Giants recalled INF Brett Wisely from Triple-A Sacramento.
With Tyler Fitzgerald heading to the injured list with a fractured rib, Wisely will have an opportunity for some extended run with the Giants. The 25-year-old hit .238/.278/.345 with four homers, 31 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 272 plate appearances with the Giants during the 2024 campaign.

Giants optioned INF Brett Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento.
Wisely gets the boot from the active roster, as he loses his battle for one of the final bench spots with the Giants. The 25-year-old likely will be up at some point with San Francisco, but not in a role that offers much value.
