Orioles optioned RHP Cam Sanders to Triple-A Norfolk.

Sanders was with the big league club for just two games this time around, but he heads back to Triple-A to make room on the active roster for Sam Huff. Sanders has yet to allow a baserunner in two appearances with the O’s this season, hurling 1 2/3 scoreless frames with a pair of strikeouts. It shouldn’t take him long to earn another opportunity with the big league club.

The 28-year-old never actually pitched for Norfolk, but holds a 2.96 ERA in 24 1/3 innings (17 walks, 44 strikeouts) for Triple-A Indianapolis this year. He’ll work low leverage innings for the Orioles.
