Giants optioned RHP Carson Seymour to Triple-A Sacramento.
The 27-year-old hurler has made two appearances with the Giants this season, posting an unsightly 14.54 ERA, 3.00 WHIP and a 2/2 K/BB ratio over 4 1/3 innings. He’ll continue to refine his craft in the rotation at the Triple-A level until another need arises. Expect a corresponding move to be made before Friday’s series opener against the Cubs.

Giants recalled RHP Carson Seymour from Triple-A Sacramento.
Seymour is carrying a 4.04 ERA in nine starts and 11 overall appearances for the River Cats. There’s nothing special here, but Seymour could be a reasonable depth arm and may be asked to eat some innings over the weekend. It’s plausible that he could be cover if Landen Roupp (back) needs an early exit on Saturday.

Giants optioned OF Drew Gilbert and Will Brennan and RHPs Spencer Bivens, Tristan Beck, Trevor McDonald and Carson Seymour to Triple-A Sacramento.
Gilbert’s departure makes it a near-lock that Jerar Encarnacion along with either Luis Matos or Jared Oliva will break camp in the big leagues.

Carson Seymour recorded only four outs and gave up four runs Wednesday in his start against the D-backs.
Already having allowed a solo homer in the first, Seymour gave up singles to four of the five batters he faced in the second, with his lone out coming on a sac bunt. He was replaced by Spencer Bivens at that point. Seymour took the loss, leaving him 1-3 with a 5.23 ERA in three starts and 10 relief appearances. He’s given up nine homers in 31 innings. If Seymour remains in the rotation, he’ll face the Diamondbacks again next week.

Carson Seymour picked up the first victory of his big league career on Friday night, limiting the Cardinals to one run on two hits over five strong innings.
The 26-year-old right-hander walked one and punched out two opposing hitters in the ballgame. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single off the bat of Victor Scott II in the fifth inning. Otherwise, Seymour was in complete control. He generated six swings and misses on 75 pitches on the night — four of those on his slider — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine outing as he carries a 4.25 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 20/12 K/BB ratio (29 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Carson Seymour allowed four runs over three innings and took a loss to the Orioles on Saturday.
Tristan Beck followed Seymour and was not better; also giving up four runs over 3 2/3 innings. Seymour gave up a pair of homers; a two-run homer to Jeremiah Jackson and another two-run shot by Ryan Mountcastle, and he walked two against two strikeouts. Seymour could work in tandem with Beck again next week against the Rockies. No thanks.

Giants recalled RHP Carson Seymour from Triple-A Sacramento.
It’s Seymour’s second major league stint after he allowed two runs over four innings in two relief appearances last month. A starter with a 3.86 ERA in Triple-A, he’ll be available to pitch several innings tonight if needed. With Hayden Birdsong getting demoted, Seymour could also be a candidate to pitch next time the Giants need a fifth starter.

Giants optioned RHP Carson Seymour to Triple-A Sacramento.
Seymour allowed four runs — three earned — on seven hits, including three homers, over four innings of work in a pair of relief appearances for San Francisco after being called up last Friday for the first time in his career.

Giants recalled RHP Carson Seymour from Triple-A Sacramento.
Seymour is up to replace Sean Hjelle, who was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding move. Seymour will be a multi-inning relief option while he’s with the GIants.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #77
Carson Seymour hurled two scoreless innings in his start against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Seymour didn’t give up a hit, didn’t issue a walk, and didn’t strike anyone out. Boring, but effective. Seymour will be organizational depth for San Francisco and is likely ticketed for Triple-A to begin his campaign.
