Blue Jays optioned RHP Chad Dallas to Triple-A Buffalo.
Dallas performed well in his bulk role win on Thursday, but the Blue Jays went with the fresh arm of Simeon Woods Richardson after acquiring him from the Twins yesterday. It’s unclear how Woods Richardson’s addition will impact the odds of Dallas getting another bulk shot, but he looked good enough that he should remain on the Jays’ radar going forward.

Chad Dallas earned a victory in his MLB debut on Thursday evening, giving up one run on two hits over 3 2/3 innings in a bulk role against the Braves.
The 25-year-old right-hander walked two batters while striking out a pair in the contest. The lone tally against him came in the third inning as Ronald Acuña Jr. singled, swiped second, advanced on a single and scored on a sacrifice fly. Dallas got seven swings and misses on 68 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 28 percent. If he sticks around to make another start or function in a bulk role once again, it would be on Tuesday against the Phillies.

Blue Jays selected the contract of RHP Chad Dallas from Triple-A Buffalo.
Dallas will pitch in a bulk role behind opener LHP Mason Fluharty tonight against the Braves. Going up against Chris Sale and a good Braves offense, we would not recommend chasing this start even in deeper leagues.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider confirmed that Chad Dallas will be called up to start a bullpen game against the Braves on Thursday.
Dallas will make his major-league debut on Thursday at Truist Park with a challenging road matchup after posting a erviceable 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 38/13 K/BB ratio over 36 innings for Triple-A Buffalo this season. The unheralded 25-year-old is not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes.

Blue Jays optioned LHP Adam Macko to Triple-A Buffalo; re-assigned RHP Andrew Bash, OF Zach Britton, RHP T.J. Brock, LHP Jimmy Burnette, RHP Chad Dallas, RHP Devereaux Harrison, RHP Ryan Jennings, INF Damiano Palmegiani, OF Alan Roden, C Andres Sosa to minor league camp.
It’s the first large batch of cuts for the Jays’ this spring, but there were no major surprises in the bunch. Macko, 23, made 20 starts at High-A Vancouver in 2023, posting a 4.81 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 106/40 K/BB ratio over 86 innings of work. Expect him to begin the 2024 campaign at Double-A New Hampshire.

Blue Jays LHP Ricky Tiedemann and 18 other players were invited to spring training.
Tiedemann — universally considered among the top pitching prospects in the game — should get a legitimate shot at cracking the Jays’ Opening Day rotation. Injuries limited him to just 44 innings over 15 minor league starts in 2023 before he concluded his season by taking home Pitcher of the Year honors in the Arizona Fall League. The 18 other players invited to major league spring training on Monday were RHP Andrew Bash, C Zach Britton, LHP Jimmy Burnette, C Phil Clarke, RHP Connor Cooke, RHP Chad Dallas, INF Luis De Los Santos, OF Cam Eden, LHP Brandon Eisert, LHP Mason Fluharty, RHP Devereaux Harrison, RHP Ryan Jennings, RHP Hayden Juenger, INF Damiano Palmegiani, OF Will Robertson, OF Alan Roden, C Brian Serven and Andres Sosa.
