Colas is up with Andrew Benintendi out with an Achilles issue. Colas hit .244/.358/.406 with five homers in 193 plate appearances in Triple-A, and while there was some fantasy promise in his profile, his lack of success in the past year-plus makes him not worthy of a roster spot in fantasy formats.

White Sox placed OF Andrew Benintendi on the 10-day injured list with left achilles tendinitis.

Benintendi was pulled from Saturday’s game due to the injury, and the White Sox didn’t waste any time placing the 29-year-old on the shelf. He’ll likely miss a couple of weeks at least while recovering, and Oscar Colas is up from Triple-A to take his place on the roster.

Francys Romero reports that the White Sox plan to recall Oscar Colas from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

With Luis Robert Jr. nearing a return, the timing doesn’t seem optimal for the 25-year-old outfielder to get a real shot at playing time with the White Sox, so we’ll see how this one goes. Colas has hit .244/.358/.406 with five homers, 21 RBI and six stolen bases in 193 plate appearances at Triple-A Charlotte this season.

The run doesn’t get charged to Kopech because it was the “zombie runner” that was placed on second base to begin the bottom of the 10th. He still gets the loss with Willy Adames singling in William Contreras to give the Brewers a win and the White Sox their 10th straight loss.

Garrett Crochet held the Brewers to one run over six innings while striking out eight Saturday in a no-decision for the White Sox.

Crochet scattered five hits with one walk. The left-hander continues to impress even while playing for arguably the worst team in baseball, and he’s struck out 19 over his last two outings while allowing just three runs over 12 innings. Any question that Crochet has the stuff to succeed as a starter was pretty silly, but it should have been answered now. The questions of whether he can handle the modern rigors remain in doubt, but right now, Crochet is an excellent fantasy option even if the wins won’t come. A chance to impress is scheduled over the weekend against the Red Sox.

Andrew Benintendi was pulled from Saturday afternoon’s matchup against the Brewers due to left Achilles tendinitis.

Benintendi got the White Sox on the board in the third inning with a 397-foot blast off of Robert Gasser. Perhaps he irritated something on the swing or while rounding the bases though, as he was replaced by Dominic Fletcher when the White Sox took the field. The club should have an update on his status — and potential timeline for his return — after the game.

Andrew Vaughn is not in Saturday’s lineup due to a sprained left ring finger.

Vaughn will miss his second straight contest on Saturday due to an injury that he suffered earlier this week while sliding into third base. The hope is that he’ll avoid a trip to the injured list and be ready to return to Chicago’s lineup at some point early next week. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Luis Robert Jr. (hip) went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts on Friday in a minor league rehab contest for Triple-A Charlotte.

Robert has gone 1-for-12 with a home run in three games for Triple-A Charlotte on his rehab assignment. There’s optimism that he’ll be ready to return early next week, but he’s going to get a couple more minor-league games under his belt this weekend to continue knocking off the rust.

Paul DeJong went 2-for-4 with a homer in a loss Friday to the Brewers.

DeJong also doubled. The shortstop has homered eight times while driving in 18 runs with a .426 slugging mark. Unfortunately, he hasn’t helped much in any other categories — and the RBI aren’t all that impressive, either, if being blunt — so his fantasy value remains limited.
