  • CWS Shortstop #85
White Sox SS prospect Colson Montgomery went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Friday for Triple-A Charlotte.
Montgomery got off to a slow start this season at the dish, but has heated up considerably in recent days, batting .267 (8-for-30) with three homers in nine games since the start of May. He’s unquestionably Chicago’s shortstop of the future, but the organization has zero incentive to rush him to the majors. He’s going to get some extra seasoning at the Triple-A level, but figures to arrive in the big leagues at some point this summer.
  • CWS Third Baseman #44
Bryan Ramos went 2-for-4 Thursday, leading the White Sox to a 3-2 win over the Guardians.
It’s pretty remarkable that Ramos is excelling considering that he skipped Triple-A entirely to make the leap to the big leagues earlier this month. The 22-year-old prospect is off to a sizzling-hot start, batting .389 (7-for-18) with a pair of RBI through six contests. He doesn’t project as a significant fantasy contributor at this stage of his career, but he’s doing more than enough to show that he can hold his own right now in the majors.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #34
Michael Kopech notched a four-out save on Thursday against the Guardians.
Kopech was called upon to record the final out of the eighth inning after John Brebbia served up back-to-back two-out homers and then came back out to work a scoreless final frame. It was his fourth save of the season and third consecutive scoreless outing since May 4. The 28-year-old former starter boasts a solid 3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 26/10 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings (17 appearances).
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #20
Erick Fedde struck out three over six shutout innings on Thursday in a win over the Guardians.
Fedde scattered six hits over six strong frames and got more than enough run support from Chicago’s lineup to pick up his third win of the year. It was a nice bounce-back effort after walking five batters and allowing five runs his last time out against the Cardinals. He’ll bring a solid 3.00 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44/14 K/BB ratio across 45 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Nationals.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. (hip) has resumed hitting.
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Thursday that Robert has gotten past the slight setback he experienced recently while rehabbing out in Arizona and isn’t far off from starting a minor league rehab assignment.
  • CWS Shortstop #29
Paul DeJong clobbered a go-ahead two-run homer in the fifth inning on Wednesday, powering the White Sox to a 4-1 victory over the Rays.
DeJong tagged Rays’ starter Aaron Civale for his 400-foot (104.2 mph EV) two-run shot, scoring Bryan Ramos who had led off the inning with a double. He also singled in the sixth inning and scored on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Tommy Pham. With his two-hit night, DeJong is now hitting .240/.284/.469 with five homers and 10 RBI through his first 32 games on the season.
  • CWS Third Baseman #44
Bryan Ramos went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and an RBI as the White Sox triumphed over the Rays on Wednesday evening.
Ramos led off the fifth inning with a double off of Aaron Civale, then rode home on Paul DeJong’s go-ahead two-run blast. He then added an insurance run with an RBI single in the sixth inning that extended the White Sox’ lead to 3-1. He has impressed in his limited action thus far, hitting .357/.375/.429 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored in his first 14 at-bats.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #34
Michael Kopech picked up his third save of the season on Wednesday night, working a scoreless ninth inning to protect a three-run lead against the Rays.
Despite the fact that he allowed a one-out single to Harold Ramirez, Kopech still made it look easy — battling right back to get Isaac Paredes to bounce into a game-ending double play. He needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to get the job done. Save chances have been few and far between for the White Sox this season, but Kopech has done a nice job overall with a 3.93 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 25/10 K/BB ratio across his 18 1/3 innings while converting three of his first four save chances.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #77
Chris Flexen delivered a dominant performance in Wednesday’s victory over the Rays, racking up eight strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball.
The 29-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits and one walk on the evening. The only blemish on his day came in the form of an RBI double by Isaac Paredes in the fourth inning. Flexen generated 12 swings and misses on 96 pitches in the ballgame — five on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 30 percent. He now holds a 4.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 25/13 K/BB ratio over 35 2/3 innings in eight appearances (six starts) on the season. He’s likely to take on the Nationals his next time out on Monday.
  • CWS Second Baseman #28
White Sox selected the contract of INF Zach Remillard from Triple-A Charlotte.
Remillard was outrighted to the minors last week after he cleared waivers. The 30-year-old doesn’t offer anything for fantasy managers and will continue to be an organizational depth piece for Chicago.
