Tigers signed 3B Clayton Campbell to a minor league contract.
Campbell, 18, was born in New Zealand and emerged as an international free agent prospect in Australia. He reportedly worked out for teams earlier this month and has played in the United States through international amateur tournaments and showcase events. He’s signing as a third baseman and also has experience catching. He’s several hyperspace jumps away from contributing at the major-league level.
