Laweryson returns to Minnesota a week after the Angels released him; iwth Los Angeles claiming him from the Twins back in September. He’ll provide some org depth this season.

    Angels released RHP Cody Laweryson.
Laweryson was claimed off waivers from the Twins in November and then DFA’d on Monday. That he’s being released here after clearing waivers would seem to suggest he’s on his way to Asia. Otherwise, he’d seem like someone the Angels would want to hang on to as a non-roster player.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #66
Angels designated RHP Cody Laweryson for assignment.
The 27-year-old reliever was claimed off waivers from the Twins back in November. He posted a 2.86 ERA and 45/14 K/BB in his 44 innings at the Double-A and Triple-A levels before allowing one run in 7 2/3 innings in the big leagues to end the season. He was waived to make room on the 40-man roster for Yoan Moncada.

Angels claimed RHP Cody Laweryson off waivers from the Twins.
Laweryson, a 2019 14th-round pick, made his major league debut in September and allowed one earned run and no walks in 7 2/3 innings for the Twins. He’s not a very hard thrower at 91-95 mph, but he’s solid relief depth for the Angels.

Twins selected the contract of RHP Cody Laweryson from Triple-A St. Paul.
Laweryson will have a chance to make his MLB debut after forging a 2.86 ERA and 45/14 K/BB in his 44 innings at the Double-A and Triple-A levels. He’ll be a mid-inning option; likely for the remainder of 2025.

According to Theodore Tollefson of Zone Coverage Minnesota, the Twins plan to promote right-hander Cody Laweryson from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
It will be the first trip to the big leagues for the 27-year-old right-hander. Laweryson, a 14th round selection from the 2019 draft class, has posted a 2.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 45/14 K/BB ratio over 44 innings between Double-A Wichita and Triple-A St. Paul this season. He’ll work in middle relief for the Twins.
