Twins optioned RHP Cody Laweryson to Triple-A St. Paul.

Laweryson has shuttled back-and-forth between Minnesota’s relief mix and Triple-A St. Paul this season, making 15 appearances in the big leagues. The well-traveled 28-year-old figures to return again after the All-Star break when the Twins require a fresh arm. He’s been shipped out to make room for newly acquired reliever Woo-Suk Go.

Twins optioned RHP Cody Laweryson to Triple-A St. Paul.

Laweryson is sent down to make room for Austin Voth. The 28-year-old is likely to be an up-and-down option as long as he’s a member of the Twins, or any other organization.

Twins placed RHP Cody Laweryson on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 9, with a right forearm strain.

Laweryson figures to be facing an extended absence since forearm issues tend to be extremely problematic and are often precursors to more serious elbow issues. The Twins aren’t going to rush him back. The 27-year-old reliever was off to a nice start with a respectable 4.26 ERA and 8/2 K/BB ratio across 6 1/3 innings of work.

Twins selected the contract of RHP Cody Laweryson.

Laweryson’s strange journey saw him DFA’d by the Twins in November, claimed by the Angels, released and now not only back with the Twins but also in possession of a spot in the team’s pen. Laweryson, a University of Maine product, isn’t viewed as someone with much upside, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be the most reliable option in a weak Twins pen.

    Angels released RHP Cody Laweryson.

Laweryson was claimed off waivers from the Twins in November and then DFA’d on Monday. That he’s being released here after clearing waivers would seem to suggest he’s on his way to Asia. Otherwise, he’d seem like someone the Angels would want to hang on to as a non-roster player.
