Braves signed OF Collin DeLome to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.
DeLome reported the transaction on his personal Twitter account. A fifth-round pick in 2007, he fizzled out in the Astros’ farm system after showing some early promise. The 26-year-old outfielder owns a weak .323 career on-base percentage in the minor leagues.

2007 fifth-round pick Collin DeLome hit his ninth and 10th homers Wednesday for low Single-A Lexington.
DeLome looks like the best prospect from the Astros’ ridiculously weak 2007 draft, and he’s striking out more than once per game as a 22-year-old in low-A ball. The Lamar product should possess the power to make it as a corner outfielder, but his on-base ability is in question. He’s currently hitting .261/.341/.541 with a 45/15 K/BB ratio in 157 at-bats.
