Grey was called up to the majors last season, but didn’t end up getting into a game for the Mets. The 28-year-old righty posted a lackluster 6.38 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 88/43 K/BB ratio across 104 1/3 innings (26 appearances, 24 starts) last season for Triple-A Syracuse. He’ll continue to serve as emergency organizational pitching depth.

Grey was brought up from the minors in late August as emergency pitching depth, but never ended up getting into a game. The 28-year-old righty went unclaimed on waivers and will remain with the Mets as organizational depth.

Grey, 28, has just a 5.52 ERA and 75/40 K/BB ratio across 93 innings this season at Syracuse. He’ll be ready to eat up some innings in relief, though, and will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

The 28-year-old righty could get the call if Taijuan Walker (back) is unable to make his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Yankees.

He fanned two batters while throwing 33 of his 51 pitches for strikes. Grey joined the Diamondbacks as a 20th-round draft pick this year. The 22-year-old finished 3-6 with a sparkling 2.84 ERA over 92 innings for St. Bonaventure this past season. His 95 strikeouts as a senior were second-most in the Atlantic 10 and his 201 career K’s were fifth-most in the program’s history.

Great Falls DH Corey Zangari broke up the right-hander’s bid for a no-hitter with a leadoff single in the eighth inning. Grey allowed just one run, one hit and a pair of walks in 7 1/3 innings before exiting. It was his longest outing of the year. The 22-year-old from St. Bonaventure is undefeated in five starts this year with a pristine 2.22 ERA over 28 1/3 innings. He’s fanned 20 hitters during that span while holding opponents to a paltry .180 average.
