Diamondbacks RHP prospect Connor Grey supplied a career-high eight strikeouts Monday in a win for Rookie-level Missoula.
Great Falls DH Corey Zangari broke up the right-hander’s bid for a no-hitter with a leadoff single in the eighth inning. Grey allowed just one run, one hit and a pair of walks in 7 1/3 innings before exiting. It was his longest outing of the year. The 22-year-old from St. Bonaventure is undefeated in five starts this year with a pristine 2.22 ERA over 28 1/3 innings. He’s fanned 20 hitters during that span while holding opponents to a paltry .180 average.
