Connor Seabold (lat) began a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Seabold, 30, has been shelved since the beginning of July due to a right lat strain. He’ll need at least a couple of tune-ups in a minor league setting there before he’s cleared to return to the Royals’ bullpen. Before landing on the injured list, he had posted a 5.25 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and a 20/11 K/BB ratio over 24 innings of work.

Royals transferred RHP Connor Seabold to the 60-day injured list.

The procedural move frees up a spot on Kansas City’s 40-man roster. Seabold hit the injured list with a lat strain last month. He’s unlikely to return this season.

Royals placed RHP Connor Seabold on the 15-day injured list with a right lat strain.

No surprise after Seabold suffered the injury during Tuesday’s relief outing against the Rays. The 30-year-old is likely facing an extended absence given the nature of the ailment. He’s made 21 relief appearances between the Royals, Blue Jays and Tigers this season, posting a serviceable 5.25 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 20/11 K/BB ratio across 24 innings.

Connor Seabold was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Rays with right lat tightness.

Seabold recorded just two outs and threw 18 pitches before leaving a relief outing following an abbreviated start from Noah Cameron. It certainly feels like an injured list situation.

Royals acquired RHP Connor Seabold from the Blue Jays for prospect RHP Denis Samudio and cash considerations.

Seabold has a 4.26 ERA in 19 innings pitched over sixteen games for the Blue Jays so far this year. He can provide length out of the bullpen for the Royals. Samudio is a 21-year-old in High-A who has a 4.50 ERA in 14 innings this season, while striking out 17 and walking eight.

Blue Jays designated RHP Connor Seabold for assignment.

Seabold loses his spot on Toronto’s roster with veteran starter Max Scherzer returning from the injured list for Wednesday’s game against the Phillies. The well-traveled 30-year-old struggled in five appearances with the Blue Jays after coming over from the Tigers in a trade back on May 27.

Blue Jays acquired RHP Connor Seabold from the Tigers in exchange for LHP Juanmi Vasquez.

Seabold was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Sunday, and unsurprisingly, there was interest in the right-hander. He’ll provide some multi-inning depth in the Toronto bullpen.

Tigers designated RHP Connor Seabold for assignment.

Seabold loses his spot to Troy Melton. He had a 3.45 ERA and a 14/5 K/BB in 15 2/3 innings for the Tigers, so even though he’s 30 and lacks much in the way of upside, it seems unlikely that he’ll make it through waivers.

Tigers activated RHP Connor Seabold from the 15-day injured list.

He’ll be back in Detroit’s bullpen mix after missing a few weeks with an ankle injury. Seabold isn’t high enough in the pecking order to be a major player in holds or saves leagues, but he had pitched to a 4.09 ERA in 11 innings (eight appearances) in April before the injury.

Tigers placed RHP Connor Seabold on the 15-day injured list with left ankle inflammation.

Seabold suffered the injury when he slipped and fell on the mound while throwing a pitch during Saturday’s contest against the Reds. He’s not expected to miss much more than the minimum time on the injured list. Brenan Hanifee was recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move to take his place in the Tigers’ bullpen.
