Angels reassigned RHP Kelvin Cáceres, RHP Dakota Hudson, RHP Camden Minacci, INF Yolmer Sánchez and OF Bryce Teodosio to minor league camp.
Hudson was signed to a minor league contract this offseason after pitching to a 6.17 ERA in 89 innings for the Rockies in 2024. He will serve as organizational depth, as will Teodosio, who stole 40 bases in Triple-A last year and could provide speed as a backup outfielder but is not currently on the 40-man roster.

Angels signed RHP Dakota Hudson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Hudson heads to Los Angeles after struggling to a bloated 6.17 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 49/50 K/BB ratio across 89 innings (18 starts) last year for the Rockies. The 30-year-old righty hasn’t been a relevant fantasy option in years at this juncture and his odds of emerging as anything more than emergency depth for the Angels are rather slim.

Just Baseball Media’s Aram Leighton reported that the Angels have signed RHP Dakota Hudson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Hudson was once a 16-game winner for the St. Louis Cardinals but that season back in 2019 always felt a bit flukey. The groundball specialist has a career 4.21 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 15.1 percent strikeout rate across 559 2/3 MLB innings. He was 2-12 with a 6.17 ERA in 18 starts for the Rockies in 2024 and will likely need to fight his way into MLB innings next year.

Rockies sent RHP Dakota Hudson outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Hudson declined the assignment and became a free agent. The former 16-game winner for the Cardinals was 2-12 with a 6.17 ERA in 18 starts for the Rockies this season. His velocity is down about three mph from where it was during his brief heyday, and it doesn’t look like he has a future as a major leaguer at this point.

Rockies transferred RHP Dakota Hudson to the 60-day injured list.
Hudson is done for the rest of the season due to right elbow inflammation. The procedural move opened up a spot on Colorado’s 40-man roster.

Rockies placed RHP Dakota Hudson on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
Hudson pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed five runs against Atlanta on Saturday, and the right-hander will now be out for at least two weeks while he recovers. Josh Rogers was recalled from Triple-A in the corresponding transaction.

Rockies selected the contract of RHP Dakota Hudson from Triple-A Albuquerque.
The 29-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment in early July and sent outright to Triple-A after he passed through waivers unclaimed. He has somehow managed to work his way back after posting a cringe-inducing 9.53 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and a 10/4 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings in his three starts at the Triple-A level. Fantasy managers should stay far, far away. Chasen Shreve was designated for assignment in a corresponding move on Saturday.

Rockies sent RHP Dakota Hudson outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Hudson predictably went unclaimed on waivers as there wasn’t a team out there willing to pick up the remainder of his $1.5 million salary for 2024. The 29-year-old righty has accepted the outright assignment and will attempt to turn things around in the minors after posting a bloated 5.84 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 48/46 K/BB over 86 1/3 innings (17 starts).

Rockies designated RHP Dakota Hudson for assignment.
Hudson is now off the roster with Tanner Gordon coming up from Albuquerque in the corresponding move. Hudson was unsurprisingly ineffective while with Colorado with a 5.84 ERA and 1.64 WHIP and ugly 48/46 K/BB over 86 1/3 innings. If he doesn’t get claimed or acquired via trade, he can elect free agency or report to Triple-A. The former seems more likely than the latter.

Dakota Hudson allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.
Hudson surrendered a solo homer to Christian Yelich in the first inning. A walk, wild pitch, and a base hit brought a second run in to score for the Brewers in the second inning. Hudson later loaded the bases in the fifth and walked in a run before he was replaced on the mound with two outs in the frame. The 29-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.84 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, and a 48/46 K/BB ratio across 86 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Reds in Cincinnati on Monday.
