Phillies signed first-round pick OF Dante Nori.
Per MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis, it’s a well under-slot deal at $2.5 million for the 27th overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft, who was originally slotted for $3.228 million. The 19-year-old prep outfielder has an above-average hit tool and enough speed to handle center field defensively, which should give him a shot to make it to the big leagues eventually.

Phillies selected Northville High School (MI) OF Dante Nori with the No. 27 selection of the 2024 MLB Draft.
Nori is one of the oldest prep bats in the class, as he’ll turn 20 in October. He’s also one of the most talented with a chance to hit for average and with double-plus speed to make him a major threat to steal bases and play center field. He also has a strong throwing arm, so that defensive profile will help him move maybe more quickly than a typical prep bat. The age adds risk, but fantasy managers should be intrigued by his skill set.
