Phillies signed president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski to a three-year contract extension through the 2027 season.
The long-term extension will keep Dombrowski at the helm of the Phillies’ front office for three additional years, which takes him through the 2027 season. The long-time executive helped guide Philadelphia back to the Fall Classic this past season in just his second year at the helm. He originally signed a four-year deal to take over as the Phillies’ first-ever president of baseball operations prior to the 2021 campaign.

Howie Kendrick has joined the Phillies’ front office as a special assistant to the general manager.
Kendrick retired from baseball last December after a 15-year playing career in the majors. The 38-year-old will work under president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski and general manager Sam Fuld. Philly also announced Tuesday that Brian Kaplan has been hired as assistant pitching coach/director of pitching development and that Jason Camilli will join the organization as assistant hitting coach.

Anirudh Kilambi has been hired as assistant general manager of the Phillies, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel.
Kilambi joined the Rays as an intern in 2015 and rose quickly to become Tampa Bay’s assistant director of research and development. The 27-year-old is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that the Phillies are expected to name Sam Fuld as their next general manager.
Fuld, who played eight seasons in the majors, has been in the Phillies’ front office since November of 2017 under the tile of major league player information coordinator. He’s been considered as a potential field manager for a number of teams, but now he’ll get a promotion in the front office and report to new president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski. Fuld will replace Matt Klentak, who held the GM job from October of 2015 through the 2020 season. Tasks for the Phillies this offseason includes upgrading the bullpen as well as retaining J.T. Realmuto and/or Didi Gregorius.

The Phillies have announced the hiring of Dave Dombrowski to be their new president of baseball operations.
Jayson Stark of The Athletic first reported the news of Dombrowski’s impending hiring on Thursday and the Phillies have now made the move official. Bob Nightengale of USA Today says that Dombrowski will receive a four-year, $20 million contract to be the organization’s first ever president of baseball operations. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com hears that the Phils “still plan to shed some payroll this offseason,” so Dombrowski is “unlikely” to live up to his reputation and be ultra-aggressive this winter. Feinsand does seem to indicate that there’s now a better chance the club re-signs J.T. Realmuto, though.
