Dominic Canzone went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday, powering the Mariners to a 4-0 win over the Tigers.
Canzone’s three-hit effort included his eighth long ball of the season, a gargantuan 451-foot blast to center field off Tigers starter Keider Montero in the fourth inning. It came just a few innings after sending a run-scoring double off the base of the center-field wall in his first at-bat of the contest. The 28-year-old has been on fire recently, hitting .350 (14-for-40) with four homers and seven RBI over his last 15 games.

Dominic Canzone went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI against the Astros on Tuesday.
Canzone stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and no outs after Tatsuya Imai hit two batters and walked a third. Canzone made him pay after Imai hung a slider over the middle of the plate, sending it 381 feet to right field for a grand slam. He later drove in a fifth run on a sacrifice fly in the ninth. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .256/.320/.477 with four homers and 18 RBI across 97 plate appearances.

Dominic Canzone drove in two runs while going 3-for-4 in a win over the Rangers on Saturday.
Canzone ripped a two-run single to give Seattle a 3-0 lead. The 28-year-old singled twice and also doubled for the three-hit night. Canzone hasn’t shown much power since that two-homer game on Opening Day, but the balls should start travelling over the fence as the weather warms.
  • SEA Right Fielder #20
Luke Raley went 3-for-4 with an RBI against the Astros in Monday’s win.
Today’s game was the second of the year in which the Mariners had to sit either Raley or Dominic Canzone against a righty with Cal Raleigh DHing. Raley has gotten the start both times, and it’s been a pretty easy call. He has the better offensive numbers, even if their xwOBAs are practically identical, and he has the better glove in right field, as he showed off while making the next-to-last out today on a jumping catch at the wall. Canzone hasn’t even gotten a start in the outfield yet this season. Raley, now hitting .294/.345/.569, still hasn’t started any games against lefties, but that might happen while Victor Robles is on the IL.
  • SEA Right Fielder #20
Luke Raley is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Yankees.
No surprise here with Yankees ace Max Fried taking the ball on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Park. Dominic Canzone is also taking a seat in this one. Raley will continue sitting against most left-handed starters, but he’ll do enough damage against righties to have some appeal in deeper mixed leagues. It’ll be Victor Robles in right field with lefty-masher Rob Refsnyder at DH.
  • SEA Right Fielder #20
Luke Raley and Dominic Canzone returned to the Mariners’ starting lineup for Sunday night’s series finale against the Guardians.
The two sluggers were held out of the lineup on Saturday with a left-hander on the mound, but they’re right back in there for the third time in four games on Sunday. The M’s are set to tangle with three left-handers next week — including two in a row to start against the Yankees — so they don’t make for the best streaming options off waivers in the short-term.
  • SEA Right Fielder #30
Rob Refsnyder is the designated hitter and leading off Saturday against the Guardians.
Refsnyder will hit at the top of the lineup in his first start as a Mariner with left-hander Joey Cantillo on the bump for the Guardians. It’s intriguing if only because Refsnyder has handled southpaws so well in his career, and he’ll get a chance to be driven in by some very good baseball players. Brendan Donovan will move down to sixth with Refsnyder at the top, and Dom Canzone is out of the lineup.
  • SEA Right Fielder #8
Dominic Canzone connected on a pair of solo homers Thursday against the Mariners.
Canzone’s homers checked in at 444 and 418 feet. Even his two outs tonight left the bat at 100.5 and 102.1 mph. Canzone’s .300/.358/.481 line in 82 games last year was incredibly impressive for a T-Mobile hitter. He plays in the worst ballpark in the league for hitters, he doesn’t start against lefties and he has no steal ability, but he might just possess some fantasy value anyway.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #2
Cole Young will start at second base and bat eighth against Tanner Bibee and the Guardians on Opening Day.
The 22-year-old second baseman is coming off of a very impressive Cactus League season. He’s expected to function in the strong side of a platoon for the M’s, though that role could expand while J.P. Crawford is shelved, which could allow him to carve out some deep league fantasy value. He’s the full alignment that manager Dan Wilson will send out on Opening Day: Brendan Donovan (3B), Cal Raleigh (C), Julio Rodriguez (CF), Josh Naylor (1B), Randy Arozarena (LF), Luke Raley (RF), Dominic Canzone (DH), Cole Young (2B) and Leo Rivas (SS).

Dominic Canzone went 4-for-7 with a homer, three runs scored and five RBI on Friday evening in a lopsided victory over the Guardians.
Canzone clobbered a grand slam off of Tyler Thornton as part of a 10-run rally in the second inning for the Mariners. He also added an RBI single in the third and scored on Cole Young’s RBI double. With his three-hit attack, the 28-year-old outfielder is now hitting .364 (8-for-22) with one homer and seven RBI during Cactus League play.
