Rockies selected the contract of RHP Dugan Darnell from Triple-A Albuquerque.
It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 28-year-old hurler who pitched a couple of years in independent ball and then toiled in the minor leagues for the Rockies for the past five seasons. He posted a 3.19 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 63/19 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 innings in 35 appearances at Triple-A Albuquerque, recording one save in the process. With Jake Bird and Tyler Kinley out of the way, the door is open for him to see some high leverage work if he performs well.
