Orioles acquired OF Taylor Ward from the Angels for RHP Grayson Rodriguez.
Ward is a perfectly solid first-division regular, coming off a season in which he hit .228/.317/.475 with 36 homers and 103 RBI. Still, moving on from Rodríguez’s considerable long-term upside when they could have more easily signed a veteran bat suggests that the Orioles just don’t feel very good about his long-term outlook. Ward, who has one year left of arbitration before free agency, figures to step in as Baltimore’s starting left fielder, leaving two outfield spots and some DH at-bats to be divided among Colton Cowser, Dylan Beavers, Tyler O’Neill and anyone else who might emerge like Heston Kjerstad or Enrique Bradfield Jr. From a fantasy standpoint, it’s a slight downgrade for Ward. Camden Yards sis a less appetizing ballpark for right-handed power hitters, despite recent changes to end the “Walltimore” era in left field. While the Orioles’ lineup is unquestionably stronger than the Halos’, Ward likely hits lower in the order than he would have in Anaheim, which could cap his counting-stat upside in the short term. He’s a top-40 range outfielder heading into fantasy drafts next spring.

Dylan Beavers was removed from Friday night’s contest against the Yankees due to right shin discomfort.
Beavers fouled a ball off of his leg earlier in the ballgame. He was replaced by Dylan Carlson when the O’s took the field to start the fourth inning. It doesn’t sound like anything that should lead to any sort of extended absence, so the 24-year-old outfielder should be considered day-to-day.

Dylan Beavers hit a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Orioles a 6-5 win over the Rays on Thursday.
Beavers had already walked and scored before hitting his fourth homer to end it. He’s batted .245/.389/.421 in 127 plate appearances since being called up, which, combined with some terrific Triple-A numbers, should earn him the right to be penciled into the 2026 lineup. The Orioles, though, could look for some help there. Right now, they have Beavers, Colton Cowser, Tyler O’Neill and Jeremiah Jackson as their top four for the 2026 outfield, with Enrique Bradfield Jr. perhaps in line to contribute by midseason.

Dylan Beavers went 2-for-5 with a homer, triple and three RBI on Tuesday, propelling the Orioles to an 8-7 victory over the White Sox in Chicago.
Beavers delivered an RBI triple off of Shane Smith in the fifth inning that extended the Orioles’ advantage to 6-2. He then tagged Wikelman Gonzalez for a 408-foot (105.9 mph EV) two-run blast in the seventh inning that proved to be the difference in the game, The 24-year-old outfielder has impressed in his limited action with the Orioles, slashing .275/.420/.438 with a pair of homers, 11 RBI, one stolen base and a 25/20 K/BB ratio over his first 101 plate appearances.

Jeremiah Jackson is batting second on Monday against the White Sox.
Jackson receives another opportunity near the top of Baltimore’s lineup against a left-handed starter with the White Sox rolling with a bullpen game on Monday night kicked off by southpaw Tyler Gilbert. The unheralded 25-year-old breakout sensation has flip-flopped the second spot on interim manager Tony Mansolino’s lineup card with top prospect Dylan Beavers over the last few days. We’re anticipating that trend continuing for the final two weeks since both youngsters have been excelling with the newfound opportunity.

Dylan Beavers is batting second again on Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Jeremiah Jackson has been moved to the cleanup spot for the first time after Beavers walked three times on Saturday in his first appearance near the top of Baltimore’s lineup. The 24-year-old rookie boasts an impressive .299/.460/.418 triple-slash line with one homer, eight RBI and one steal across 23 games. He’s going to be an extremely popular breakout candidate in fantasy drafts next spring.

Dylan Beavers is batting second on Saturday against the Blue Jays.
It’s the highest Beavers has batted since ascending to the big leagues last month. The 24-year-old top prospect has more than held his own across 22 games at the highest level, batting .303/.446/.424 with one homer, eight RBI and one steal during that span. He’s earned an opportunity to show what he can do as a top-of-the-order catalyst for the final two weeks.

Dylan Beavers singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh as the Orioles topped the Pirates 3-2 on Thursday.
It was a grounder up the middle that Nick Gonzales couldn’t quite glove. This comes less than 24 hours after he walked off the Pirates in the 10th inning on Wednesday. Beavers is hitting .302/.443/.429 in 80 plate appearances, and he seems like someone who should be penciled into the Orioles’ 2026 outfield. The team can afford to play him regularly the rest of the way, too; because he’s walked so much, he has accrued just 63 at-bats in 21 games. He’d have to total more than 67 with 16 games left in order to lose rookie eligibility next year.

Dylan Beavers delivered a game-winning single in the 10th inning on Wednesday, lifting the Orioles to a 2-1 extra-inning win over the Pirates.
Beavers came through with a bases-loaded single to right field in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the Orioles faithful home in walk-off fashion. The 24-year-old rookie finished 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in the extra-inning affair.

Samuel Basallo is behind the plate and batting eighth on Saturday against the Dodgers.
Basallo remains locked in the lower-third of Baltimore’s lineup despite crushing a walk-off homer against Dodgers closer Tanner Scott during Friday’s series opener. It’s worth noting that fellow top prospect Dylan Beavers also continues to find himself at the bottom of the lineup card on a consistent basis. That should change next spring, but the Orioles aren’t going to give them too much of a challenge over the next three weeks.
