Brewers optioned RHP Garrett Stallings to Triple-A Nashville.

The Brewers needed to clear a spot on their active roster for the return of Logan Henderson on Thursday and unfortunately for Stallings he was the odd man out this time around. The 28-year-old righty fired three scoreless frames with a 0.67 WHIP and a 4/1 K/BB ratio in two appearances for the Brewers. It shouldn’t take him long to get another opportunity with the big league club.

Brewers selected the contract of RHP Garrett Stallings from Triple-A Nashville.

Stallings, 28, will have a chance to make his MLB debut after spending five-plus seasons in the minors with the Orioles and Brewers. The 28-year-old is up as a multi-inning option for the Brew Crew, and Robert Gasser ws sent to the Arizona Complex League to make room on the active roster.

Brewers acquired RHP Garrett Stallings and cash considerations from the Orioles for RHPs Thyago Viera and Aneuris Rodriguez.

Stallings was a fifth-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft and has spent the last two years in the upper minors of Baltimore’s system. The 26-year-old righty has posted an underwhelming 5.67 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 25/13 K/BB ratio across 27 innings (11 appearances, four starts) this season for Triple-A Norfolk. He’s merely extra organizational relief depth for Milwaukee.
