Phillies claimed RHP Grant Holman off waivers from the Tigers; optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Holman is with his fourth organization in three months after being DFA’d by the A’s, the Dodgers and the Tigers. The 25-year-old has a 4.66 ERA in 38 2/3 innings, all with the A’s, as a major league reliever.
  • DET Relief Pitcher
Tigers claimed RHP Grant Holman off waivers from the Dodgers.
Holman heads to the Motor City as organizational relief depth after spending roughly two weeks with the Dodgers. The 25-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 4.66 ERA and 33/13 K/BB ratio across 38 2/3 innings in the majors since 2024. He’ll presumably open up at Triple-A Toledo for now.

Dodgers claimed RHP Grant Holman off waivers from the Diamondbacks.
Holman heads to his third different team in less than two months after being waived by the Athletics in mid-February. The 25-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 4.66 ERA and 33/13 K/BB ratio across 38 2/3 innings in the majors since 2024. He’ll head to Triple-A Oklahoma City as organizational relief depth for Los Angeles.
  • AZ Relief Pitcher #92
Diamondbacks designated RHP Grant Holman for assignment.
Holman, who was claimed off waivers from the A’s in February, made just one appearance for the Diamondbacks this spring before being optioned out. He’ll go back on waivers now, and since he does have two options years left, there’s a decent chance he’ll be claimed.
  • AZ Left Fielder #73
Diamondbacks optioned LHPs Mitch Bratt and Kohl Drake, RHPs Juan Burgos and Grant Holman and INF Jose Fernandez to Triple-A Reno; Reassigned RHPs Gerardo Carrillo, Taylor Rashi, Hayden Durke and Junior Fernandez, LHP Spencer Giesting, INFs LuJames Groover, Cristofer Torin and Tommy Troy and OFs A.J. Vukovich and Ryan Waldschmidt to minor league camp.
The most interesting name among this batch of cuts for the Diamondbacks is Ryan Waldschmidt. He had started to gain some steam in fantasy circles as a sleeper candidate, but he was always facing an uphill battle at earning a spot on the Diamondbacks’ Opening Day roster. The 23-year-old hit .240 (6-for-25) with one homer, five RBI and one stolen base during Cactus League play. He should get an opportunity with the Snakes at some point in 2026.
  • AZ Pitcher #67
Diamondbacks claimed RHP Grant Holman off of waivers from the Athletics.
The A’s removed the 25-year-old hurler from their 40-man roster earlier in the week when they made their signing of Scott Barlow official. Holman has proven to be an outstanding reliever in the minor leagues but has yet to be able to translate that success to the game’s highest level. He makes for a solid depth addition to the Diamondbacks’ bullpen.
  • ATH Pitcher #67
Athletics designated RHP Grant Holman for assignment.
Holman, 25, has been an outstanding minor league reliever, but he’s produced a 4.66 ERA with a disappointing 19% strikeout rate in 38 2/3 innings for the A’s the last two seasons. Replacing him on the roster with Scott Barlow is probably an upgrade for the A’s.

Athletics transferred RHP Grant Holman to the 60-day injured list.
Holman will be on the shelf until at least mid-August as he recovers from right shoulder tendinitis. The 25-year-old righty has posted a lackluster 5.09 ERA across 23 innings (22 appearances, two starts) this season in the big leagues. There’s a chance he doesn’t make it back to the Athletics’ relief mix until the late stages of the second half.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #67
Athletics placed RHP Grant Holman on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 16, with right shoulder cuff tendinitis.
The A’s had optioned Holman to Triple-A on Monday, but that option was rescinded, and he was placed on the injured list instead. No word yet on the severity of the injury or how much time Holman stands to miss.

Athletics optioned RHP Grant Holman to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Holman returns to the minors after struggling to a pedestrian 5.09 ERA and 17/9 K/BB ratio across 23 innings in 22 appearances, two starts. The 25-year-old pitching prospect figures to return in a couple weeks as middle relief depth.
