It was assumed that 27th man Grant Wolfram would be returned to Triple-A after Sunday’s doubleheader, but he’ll stick around and Suárez will go back on waivers for the third time this season. Suárez pitched four scoreless innings today, giving him a 2.75 ERA in 19 2/3 innings over the course of seven relief appearances.

The 29-year-old left-hander had been sidelined since May 9 due to a lower back strain. He’ll serve as the 27th man for Sunday’s doubleheader against the Tigers before potentially heading back to Triple-A Norfolk. Wolfram holds a 4.85 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and a stellar 20/1 K/BB ratio over 13 innings with the O’s this season.

Wolfram returns to Baltimore’s bullpen for the final weekend of the regular season with fellow southpaw Dietrich Enns away on paternity leave. The 28-year-old lefty has posted a pedestrian 4.85 ERA and 31/12 K/BB ratio across 26 innings of work over 20 appearances this season at the big-league level.

Wolfram has done a decent job this season in low-leverage work for the Orioles, recording a serviceable 4.85 ERA and 31/12 K/BB ratio across 26 innings of work over 20 appearances. He retreats to the minors to clear a roster spot for lefty José Castillo to join Baltimore’s relief mix.

Wolfram has pitched to a serviceable 5.40 ERA across 3 1/3 innings (three appearances) this season in the big leagues. The towering 28-year-old southpaw joins Baltimore’s relief corps ahead of Sunday’s first-half finale against the Marlins.

Wolfram was up for just a day. The southpaw heads back to the minors to clear room for Trevor Rogers on the active roster.

Wolfram will begin a third stint in the majors, though it’s unclear if this one will last any longer than the others. He was up with the Brewers for one day in April, didn’t pitch and was then DFA’d and sent to Baltimore. He made two appearances for the Orioles later that month, giving up two runs in 1 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old has a 5.01 ERA in 23 1/3 innings of relief work in Triple-A this year.

Wolfram pitched both days he was with the Orioles and gave up two runs over 1 1/3 innings.

Wolfram will be available for the second game of the doubleheader against the Tigers on Sunday. He’ll be a middle-inning option while he’s with the Orioles.
