Senger was up to be the backup catcher with Luis Torrens on the injured list with a forearm contusion, but Torrens is back, so Senger must part.

Senger returns to the big leagues with backup catcher Luis Torrens hitting the injured list with a bruised forearm. The 28-year-old backstop has batted .174 (12-for-69) with four RBI across 30 games at the highest level this season.

Senger went 4-for-23 with four RBI in his latest stint helping to fill in for Francisco Alvarez. He’s hit .174/.216/.188 in 75 plate appearances this season.

Senger comes up to handle the backup catching duties for the Mets behind Luis Torrens with Francisco Alvarez hitting the injured list with a sprained thumb.

Senger has hit .174/.208/.196 in 49 plate appearances over three stints while filling in for Francisco Alvarez this season.

Sengers returns to the big leagues to serve as the primary caddy to starter Luis Torrens in the wake of the Mets’ decision to option Francisco Alvarez to Triple-A. The 28-year-old backstop can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

With Francisco Alvarez back from the Paternity List, the Mets no longer needed Senger on the active roster.

Senger will back up Luis Torrens for a few days with Francisco Alvarez absent. He went 5-for-28 while in that role for most of the first month of the season.

With Francisco Alvarez expected to be activated from the injured list on Friday, Senger was no longer necessary as a depth piece on the team’s active roster. The 28-year-old backstop hit just .179 (5-for-28) with zero RBI and a 9/1 K/BB ratio in his limited action with the Mets.

Alvarez, on the IL with a fractured hamate bone, is 7-for-35 with a homer through nine minor league games. His activation will send Hayden Senger back to Triple-A, with Luis Torrens returning to a backup role.
