Jackson Kowar underwent right shoulder arthroscopic debridement surgery on Wednesday.

Kowar was removed from Baltimore’s 40-man roster back in late March after coming over from the Mariners in an offseason trade. The 29-year-old has made 54 career appearances in the big leagues dating back to 2021. It’s unclear how much time he’ll miss following the procedure.

Orioles sent RHP Jackson Kowar outright to Triple-A Norfolk.

The 29-year-old hurler had been designated for assignment on Wednesday, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra rotation depth for the O’s at the Triple-A level.

Orioles designated RHP Jackson Kowar for assignment.

Kowar was acquired from the Twins for cash in February, but did not make the Orioles bullpen. He will likely remain in the organization in the minors.

Orioles acquired RHP Jackson Kowar from the Twins for cash considerations.

Kowar finds himself on the move for the third time since late January. The 29-year-old righty should be able to secure a spot in Baltimore’s bullpen as a low-leverage option after making 15 relief appearances for the Mariners this past season. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

Twins designated RHP Jackson Kowar for assignment.

The 29-year-old hurler was just claimed off of waivers from the Mariners last week, but the Twins needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster to add Anthony Banda on Thursday and Kowar was the odd man out. It’s possible that he could generate interest on waivers once more.

Twins claimed RHP Jackson Kowar off waivers from the Mariners.

Kowar was designated for assignment last week to make room for Jhonny Pereda. The former first-round pick back in 2018 posted a 4.24 ERA and 15/7 K/BB ratio over 17 innings out of Seattle’s bullpen last season in his first year back from Tommy John. It’s not a bad gamble for the Twins.

Mariners designated RHP Jackson Kowar for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-acquired Jhonny Pereda on the 40-man roster. Kowar, 28, posted a 4.24 ERA and 15/7 K/BB ratio over 17 innings out of Seattle’s bullpen last season. It was his first year back from Tommy John surgery.

Mariners placed RHP Jackson Kowar on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

Kowar figures to miss the rest of the season given the nature of the injury. The 28-year-old former starter has posted a respectable 4.24 ERA across 17 innings over 15 appearances in the majors this season.

Mariners optioned RHP Jackson Kowar to Triple-A Tacoma.

Kowar pitched in back-to-back games, and the Mariners will go with a fresh arm in the bullpen with Sauryn Lao joining the club. Kowar could be back before the end of the season, but obviously it will be in a role that isn’t relevant to fantasy leagues.

Mariners recalled RHP Jackson Kowar from Triple-A Tacoma.

He’ll take the place of the injured Trent Thornton (Achilles) in the Mariners’ bullpen. Kowar, 28, has made nine appearances in the big leagues this season, posting a scintillating 1.54 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and a 9/4 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings.
