Gustave signed a minor league contract with Arizona back in January after making 27 relief appearances last year for the Brewers. He missed the final two months of last season with a right forearm injury and was eventually non-tendered by Milwaukee. He was torched for 15 runs (14 earned) with a 5/6 K/BB ratio across 7 2/3 innings (nine appearances) this season for Triple-A Reno. The hard-throwing 30-year-old righty should be able to find a new opportunity rather quickly.

It’s a nice landing spot for Gustave, who will have a decent shot at making Arizona’s season-opening roster. The hard-throwing 30-year-old righty posted a strong 3.69 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 40/16 K/BB ratio across 46 1/3 innings (41 appearances) over the last two years for the Brewers.
