Pirates minor league first baseman Jared Lakind will begin a transition to pitching.
It’s worth a shot, as Lakind hasn’t enjoyed much success as a position player. The 21-year-old posted a miserable .163/.250/.260 batting line over his first 78 games in pro ball. He’ll hope for better luck on the mound.
