Mets signed LHP Jefry Yan to a minor league contract.
Yan was recently released by the Rockies after posting a 7.28 ERA in 29 2/3 innings in Triple-A. He offers big-time strikeout ability, but he’s just too wild, and any hitter who is not just up there hacking away poses him big problems.

    Rockies released LHP Jefry Yan.
The 28-year-old southpaw requested his release from his minor league deal with the Rockies and the club obliged. Yan has been hit extremely hard at Triple-A Albuquerque this season, registering a 7.28 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and a 45/22 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings in 27 appearances. He’s now free to sign with any team of his choosing.

Rockies optioned RHPs Anthony Molina and Juan Mejia and LHP Evan Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque; reassigned LHP Jefry Yan to minor league camp.
Molina is probably the biggest surprise of the group, as the 23-year-old hurler made 35 appearances out of the Rockies’ bullpen during his rookie campaign in 2024 — posting a 6.79 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and a 41/22 K/BB ratio across 59 2/3 innings. He struggled in his two Cactus League outings, giving up four runs in his three innings of work (12.00 ERA) with an untenable 2.33 WHIP. He should get an opportunity to work out of the Rockies’ bullpen at some point in 2025.

Rockies signed LHP Jefry Yan to a minor league contract.
The 28-year-old southpaw spent the 2024 season pitching in Japan and in the Dominican Winter League, compiling a 3.84 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a 73/34 K/BB ratio across 61 innings. He’ll add an intriguing and talented arm as minor league bullpen depth for the Rockies.
