He plated four runs as RockHounds cruised to an 11-3 win over Springfield. Before Saturday’s outburst, Bennie had gone his first 34 Double-A at-bats without a home run. The 25-year-old was promoted to Midland last week after hitting .302 with 11 HR and 69 RBI in 111 games for High-A Stockton. He’s been a doubles machine with 31 two-baggers in 472 at-bats this season.

Eight of Bennie’s 11 home runs this season have come in the last nine games. He’s hit .325 over that span with 13 RBI and 36 total bases. Bennie has walked 59 times this season, second-most in the Midwest League. He also ranks fourth with 26 doubles.
