Blue Jays recalled RHP John Klein from Triple-A Buffalo.

Klein, acquired from the Twins in the Jeff Hoffman trade, will be making his Blue Jays debut. He allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings for the Twins earlier this season in his MLB debut. He ended the minor league season with a 6.36 ERA and a 95/51 K/BB in 86 1/3 innings over 19 starts and 13 relief appearances.

Klein, 24, made his major league debut earlier this season, allowing two runs and walking four in 4 1/3 innings over three appearances for the Twins. He can start or relieve, and he misses bats at a pretty good clip. He’ll probably be up and down several times as a swingman-type over the next couple of years.

Rodriguez, 23, was absolutely sizzling at the plate in Grapefruit League play — hitting .421 (8-for-19) with a pair of homers and four RBI. As long as he’s able to stay healthy, it shouldn’t be long before he breaks through and makes his debut with the Twins.

Rojas is the highest-profile prospect to join Minnesota’s 40-man roster in advance of next month’s Rule 5 Draft after coming over from the Blue Jays in the Louis Varland trade back in July. The soon-to-be 23-year-old southpaw posted a 4.70 ERA and 90/32 K/BB ratio across 69 innings over 19 appearances (18 starts) across four minor league levels.
