Jonah Nickerson fanned 10 in seven scoreless innings Friday for Single-A Lakeland.
Nickerson, a 2006 seventh-round pick, is 5-3 with a 4.12 ERA, 55 H and 46/10 K/BB in 59 IP. A top performer on Oregon State’s championship team, he combines slightly below average stuff with excellent command. It might be enough to make him a fifth starter in the majors.
