Brendan Donovan was scratched from the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Giants.
No word yet on the reason for the move. It’ll be José Fermín taking over at second base with Lars Nootbaar moving up to the leadoff spot in his absence.

Angels recalled RHP José Fermin from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Fermin returns to the big leagues for Sunday’s series finale against the Athletics after spending a couple weeks back on the farm. The 23-year-old rookie has posted an underwhelming 6.63 ERA across 19 innings (23 appearances) this season in the big leagues.

Angels optioned RHP José Fermin to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Fermín has been shipped back to the minors to make room for fellow rookie Jack Kochanowicz to come up and take the ball on Monday night against the Rangers. The 23-year-old righty has struggled to a lackluster 6.63 ERA across 19 innings (23 appearances) in his first taste of the majors.

Angels recalled RHP José Fermin from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Fermin gets the call to replace Hector Neris in the bullpen. The 23-year-old offers some long-term upside but isn’t likely to have a significant role from a fantasy perspective for the remainder of 2025.

Angels optioned RHP José Fermin to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Fermin returns to the minors after throwing 28 pitches over 1 2/3 scoreless innings on Sunday against the Mariners. The 23-year-old rookie right-hander has posted a respectable 4.82 ERA across 9 1/3 innings (10 appearances) this season in his first shot at the highest level.

Angels activated RHP José Fermín from the 15-day injured list.
The 23-year-old right-hander had been shelved since May 15 due to a right elbow impingement. He’s feeling much better after a few weeks off though and will rejoin the Angels’ bullpen for Friday’s ballgame against the Mariners. Sam Aldegheri was optioned to Double-A Rocket City in a corresponding move.

Angels placed RHP José Fermín on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 15, with a right elbow impingement.
Fermín heads to the injured list after compiling a pedestrian 5.87 ERA across 7 2/3 innings (nine appearances) for the Angels since being called up back on April 26. No word yet on how much time he’s going to miss, but elbow-related issues typically lead to extended absences.

Angels selected the contract of RHP José Fermin from Double-A Rocket City.
Fermin makes the jump directly to the majors, skipping Triple-A altogether, after posting a sparkling 1.13 ERA, 0.50 WHIP and 15/1 K/BB ratio across eight innings (six appearances) for Double-A Rocket City. This qualifies as aggressive, even by Angels standards.
