Nationals optioned RHP Josh Karp to Triple-A New Orleans; reassigned RHP Seth Greisinger, RHP Chad Durbin, RHP Luis Pineda, LHP Micah Bowie and LHP Bill Bray to minor league camp.

Some decent depth for New Orleans here. Bray, a 2004 first-round pick, will probably start off in Double-A, but he might have a better chance of pitching in the majors this year than anyone else in the group.

Josh Karp worked three scoreless innings Sunday in his first start since being demoted to Double-A Harrisburg.

The Nationals hoped Karp might turn his career around as a reliever, but the sixth overall selection in the 2001 draft had a 5.65 ERA in 28 2/3 IP for Triple-A New Orleans. It appears that he’ll go back to starting now.
