Orioles optioned RHPs Anthony Nunez and Cameron Foster to Triple-A Norfolk; reassigned OF Jud Fabian to minor league camp.
Nunez struck out six batters over five scoreless innings this spring and looked like a strong candidate to make Baltimore’s season-opening bullpen. The 24-year-old came over from the Rays in the Cedric Mullins trade last July and figures to reach the big leagues at some point later this year.

Jud Fabain walked twice and struck out three times in his Triple-A debut Tuesday.
Fabian, a 2022 second-round pick, was promoted after hitting .233/.326/.432 with 18 homers and 13 steals in 98 games for Double-A Bowie. He’s a solid prospect, but he’s probably going to have a tough time ever breaking into Baltimore’s outfield.

Peter Gammons of MLB Network reports that the Red Sox are not expected to sign second-round pick Jud Fabian.
Fabian was viewed as a first-round talent by many but wound up falling to the 40th overall pick. It sounds like that was at least in part due to his bonus demands, which Gammons hears was $3 million, a number the Red Sox evidently aren’t willing to pay. The slot value for pick No. 40 is $1.8567 million.
