Jason Castro is healthy and the Astros added Chris Snyder as a backup over the winter, so cashing in on Quintero made sense. J.B. Shuck or Justin Ruggiano are now likely to replace Bourgeois on the Astros’ bench. Chapman has a 5.06 ERA in the minors and has struggled with his command and control, but he also throws hard and has averaged 12.4 K/9. The 24-year-old left-hander has a chance to make it as middle reliever.

Chapman was only up for one day as the 26th man for Thursday’s doubleheader against Minnesota. He pitched in the nightcap, allowing five hits and two runs over 1 1/3 innings. Chapman holds a 5.81 ERA over 43 minor league appearances this year.

Chapman will serve as the Astros’ 26th man for Thursday’s doubleheader against the Twins. He has a rough 5.81 ERA in 48 innings this year in the minor leagues.

Chapman allowed two runs on five hits in a short appearance earlier this season with Houston. The 28-year-old southpaw figures to work in low-leverage situations.

If he clears waivers, the left-hander will be outrighted to Triple-A Fresno. Chapman, who is currently pitching for Canada in the World Baseball Classic, holds a 4.09 ERA across 58 relief appearances over parts of the last four seasons with the Astros.

Chapman allowed five runs -- three earned -- over three Grapefruit League innings before leaving Astros camp to pitch for Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic. The 29-year-old left-hander will now try to win a spot in the Braves’ Opening Day bullpen.

Chapman was just claimed off waivers earlier this month. He’s no longer on the Braves’ 40-man roster but will remain in the organization.

Chapman, acquired from the Braves last month in the Danny Santana trade, owns a 6.65 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 23 innings this season at the Triple-A level. The 27-year-old left-hander will try to latch on with yet another organization. He began the year in the Astros’ system.

Chapman holds a 4.09 ERA and 48/31 K/BB ratio over 55 relief innings at the big league level. He’ll report to Triple-A Rochester.

Chapman has allowed two runs over 5 1/3 relief innings for the Astros this season. He’s clearing space for the return of Brett Oberholtzer from the disabled list.
