Kole Calhoun announced his retirement from professional baseball on Friday.
The 36-year-old outfielder is ready to call it a career after 12 seasons in the big leagues. Overall, Calhoun hit .242/.315/.417 with 179 homers, 582 RBI and 34 stolen bases in 4988 plate appearances between the Angels, Diamondbacks, Rangers and Guardians. He slugged a career-best 33 homers for the Angels in 2019 and picked up a Gold Glove award in 2015. Best of luck of Calhoun in the next chapter of his life.

Kole Calhoun clobbered a solo home run against his former club on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Guardians past the Angels.
The 35-year-old outfielder belted a 426-foot solo shot off of Kenny Rosenberg in the second inning, tying the score at 1-1. That would wind up being the Guardians’ lone tally in the ballgame. Calhoun also singled in the game, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. On the season, he’s slashing .241/.325/.398 with four homers and 17 RBI in 123 plate appearances.

Kole Calhoun walloped a go-ahead three-run homer in the 10th inning on Wednesday, leading the Guardians to a 5-2 extra-inning victory over the Twins.
Calhoun put the Guardians ahead for good in the 10th inning with a three-run blast off Twins rookie reliever Kody Funderburk. It was his third long ball of the season and came at an opportune time for Cleveland in an extra-inning marathon.

Kole Calhoun hit a three-run homer as part of a five-run seventh as the Guardians topped the Dodgers 8-3 on Tuesday.
The Guardians had two homers tonight, and both landed in pretty much the same spot down the right field line. Oscar Gonzalez’s solo homer in the fourth was projected at 346 feet, while Calhoun’s fly in the seventh came in at 350. Calhoun has hit .306 with two homers through 13 games with the Guardians. There’s little reason to think he’ll keep it up, but he’ll get plenty of playing time against righties until he begins to slump.

Kole Calhoun is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Tigers.
The veteran smacked a 395-foot solo homer in the first inning of Saturday’s contest against the Tigers but will start Sunday’s game on the bench. Calhoun has bounced around this season after inking minor league deals with the Yankees and Dodgers but appears to have found a home in Cleveland. Gabriel Arias will bat seventh and play first base in his place.
  • CLE Outfield #1
Kole Calhoun swatted his first home run of the season as the Guardians fell to the Tigers on Saturday evening in Cleveland.
The 35-year-old outfielder tagged Tigers’ right-hander Matt Manning for his 395-foot solo shot in the opening inning. He also drew a walk in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-4. On the season, Calhoun is slashing a terrific .311/.380/.422 with a homer and six RBI through his first 12 games.

Guardians acquired OF Kole Calhoun from the Dodgers for cash considerations.
Calhoun signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers two months ago and was hitting .308/.367/.532 with five homers over 35 games in Triple-A. The 35-year-old struggled miserably with the Rangers last season, but the Guardians will see what’s left in the tank.

Dodgers signed OF Kole Calhoun to a minor league contract.
The 35-year-old outfielder was released by the Yankees on Saturday, but it didn’t take him long to find new work. He had been hitting .281/.391/.528 with four homers, 18 RBI and a 22/13 K/BB ratio over 105 plate appearances at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

    Yankees released OF Kole Calhoun.
New York opted to grant Calhoun his release, rather than add him to their active roster, after he opted out of his minor league contract earlier this week. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder should be able to latch on somewhere else after hitting well this season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Kole Calhoun has exercised the June 1 opt-out clause in his minor league deal with the Yankees, reports Jon Morosi of MLB.com.
The Yankees will need to decide in the next 72 hours whether to add him to their roster. Calhoun, 35, holds a healthy .293/.402/.561 batting line with four homers over 21 games in Triple-A this season.
