Diamondbacks reassigned RHP Bryce Jarvis, RHP Isaiah Campbell, RHP Shawn Dubin, RHP Thomas Hatch, C Matt O’Neill, OF Oscar Mercado and OF Kristian Robinson to minor league camp.
None of these players were expected to make a big impact in the majors this year, and most of them were brought on for minor-league contracts. Jarvis was DFA’ed after the season and sent outright to Triple-A Reno. He carried a 5.73 ERA in 22 innings with the Snakes last year, but has a 3.69 career major league ERA and is probably the most likely of the crew to make MLB appearances this year.

Kristian Robinson went 1-for-4 on Wednesday in AFL action
Robinson was once a top prospect in Arizona’s farm system but missed the first three seasons of his career due to legal issues. He returned to Double-A this year and slashed just .214/.337/.350 with 11 home runs and 10 RBI in 110 games. On Wednesday, he showed off his plus exit velocities, hitting the ball 103.3, 95.9, and 95.3 mph. He doesn’t yet make enough contact to make good on these exit velocities, but he’s just 23 years old, so there’s still time for him to put it together.

The Diamondbacks reassigned OF Kristian Robinson along with RHPs Luke Albright, Dakota Chalmers, Francisco Morales, Chris Rodriguez, Tristin English and LHP Brandon Hughes to minor league camp.
Robinson will start out the regular season within the D-backs minor league organization where he spent most of his time last season at Single-A Visalia. Robinson missed the first three seasons of his career due to legal issues and was once considered a top prospect for Arizona. At 23 years old, he’ll look to continue to develop his power at the plate and potentially become a 20 HR, 20 stolen base type of player.

Kristian Robinson slugged a three-run homer in Monday’s loss to the Athletics in Cactus League action.
Robinson gave the D-Backs the lead with a 104 mph rocket in the top of the sixth inning before the A’s answered with five runs in the bottom of the frame. Once considered a top prospect in the organization, Robinson made his return to pro ball last season after missing three years due to legal issues. Now 23 years old, Robinson still possesses interesting power and speed to go along with his swing-and-miss tendencies. It’s very possible he could make his major league debut this season.

Kristian Robinson made his Double-A debut Tuesday, collecting an RBI double in three at-bats for Amarillo.
The 22-year-old Robinson was removed from the Diamondbacks’ 40-man roster last month and went unclaimed on waivers. He was also demoted to Rookie ball for a time. However, it seems like he’s made some progress since then, and he got promoted to Double-A after hitting five homers in 11 games in low-A ball.

Diamondbacks send OF Kristian Robinson outright to the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Robinson went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last weekend and will remain with the Diamondbacks. The 22-year-old former top prospect wound up missing several years of development time due to off-field issues. It’s a bit surprising another organization wasn’t willing to take a chance on him.

Diamondbacks designated OF Kristian Robinson for assignment.
Robinson was among the more highly-regarded prospects in baseball just a few years ago before missing nearly four years of development time due to legal issues. The 22-year-old former top prospect figures to garner some interest on waivers since he’s resumed playing in the lower minors.

Diamondbacks activated OF Kristian Robinson from the restricted list; optioned him to Low-A Visalia.
Robinson has missed nearly four years of development time due to legal issues, but is finally ready to begin playing in minor league games again. The 22-year-old former top-100 overall prospect was sentenced to 18 months’ probation after pleading guilty to an aggravated assault charge involving a police officer back in 2020. His arrival this season was delayed due to visa issue, that are now resolved.

Kristian Robinson remains on the restricted list and doesn’t have the proper work visa to return yet.
Robinson has missed the previous two seasons due to legal issues, but has been able to participate in workouts this spring. The 22-year-old former top-100 overall prospect, who was sentenced to 18 months’ probation after pleading guilty to an aggravated assault charge back in 2020, is still lacking the proper work visa to play this year. The Diamondbacks are hopeful to resolve that situation shortly, which would enable him to finally return to minor league contests. He’s missed a ton of development time and it’s unclear whether he’ll ever wind up making an impact in the majors.
