Twins optioned OF Kyler Fedko to Triple-A St. Paul

We know Ryan Jeffers is going to be activated today, so it seems that the Twins will carry three catchers on the roster instead of having to designate Alex Jackson for assignment. Fedko was 0-for-16 in his first 19 MLB plate appearances.

Twins selected the contract of OF Kyler Fedko from Triple-A St. Paul.

Fedko will have a chance to make his MLB debut upon his promotion. The 26-year-old has hit well in Triple-A with a .288 average and 15 homers with St. Paul while also adding nine stolen bases. There’s some question as to how much Fedko will play, but at the very least, Fedko is a name to keep an eye on for those thinking about making a change to their fantasy outfield.

Kyler Fedko finished 5-for-5 with a homer and two doubles for Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

The Twins are going to have to give the 25-year-old Fedko a look next month. Never really thought of as much of a prospect, he’s nevertheless come in at .358/.429/.687 with five homers and five steals in his first 16 games in Triple-A after hitting .253/.375/.494 in Double-A. Overall, he has 25 homers and 31 steals in 104 games this season.

Twins OF prospect Kyler Fedko went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, two runs scored, and three RBI for Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old had a 20-home run and 26-steal season last year and has followed that up by hitting .269/.386/.521 in 99 games between Double-A and Triple-A with 23 home runs and 31 steals. He’s also slashing .390/.469/.732 in his first 11 games at Triple-A with three home runs and five steals. The Twins have far too many left-handed-hitting outfielders in the majors and Triple-A, so it might make sense for them to see if the right-handed-hitting Fedko can at least be a short-side platoon option at the big league level.
