Arias broke through to the big leagues for the first time in 2025, compiling an unsightly 11.32 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and a 10/5 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings in seven appearances with the Marlins. He’s now free to peddle his wares on the open market and will almost assuredly have to settle for a minor league deal this winter with an invitation to big league camp.

Arias passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 24-year-old righty was hit hard in seven relief appearances this season in his first exposure to the big leagues.

Arias loses his spot after giving up two runs in an inning in his lone appearance. It’s the second time the Marlins have DFA’d him this season.

Arias, who will pitch out of the pen, gave up 11 runs in 9 1/3 innings of relief work for the Marlins back in April. He went on to miss some time and post a 4.74 ERA with a hideous 13/17 K/BB in 24 2/3 innings in the minors.

The 24-year-old right-hander had been designated for assignment last weekend, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra depth for the Marlins at the Triple-A level. Arias has been hit extremely hard in six appearances with the Marlins this season, posting a 10.61 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and a 9/5 K/BB ratio over 9 1/3 innings.

Arias has been removed from Miami’s 40-man roster to make space for Freddy Tarnok. The 24-year-old righty made six relief appearances earlier this season for the Marlins.

The 24-year-old hurler appeared in six games with the Marlins, posting a troublesome 10.61 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and a 9/5 K/BB ratio over 9 1/3 innings. The Marlins will make a corresponding move to add another arm to the mix on Friday.

Arias provides Miami with some extra relief depth heading into Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty has struggled in four appearances this season at the highest level.

The 24-year-old Arias surrendered eight runs in 6 1/3 innings while filling in for Jesús Tinoco in the Marlins pen.

The Marlins needed a fresh arm in the bullpen with Jesus Tinoco hitting the injured list. Arias fits the bill after he posted a solid 3.04 ERA at Triple-A last year, earning himself a spot on the Marlins’ 40-man roster over the offseason.
