Bryan Woo (pectoral) is on the Mariners’ roster for the ALCS against the Blue Jays.
Woo’s return provides a massive lift for Seattle’s rotation mix for the best-of-seven series against Toronto after missing the ALDS recovering from pectoral inflammation. It’s unclear when he’ll take the ball during the extended series, but Mariners manager Dan Wilson should provide an update at some point prior to Game 1. The 25-year-old ace posted a spectacular 2.94 ERA across a career-high 186 2/3 innings over 30 starts during the regular season. The only other changes for the Mariners involve versatile Miles Mastrobuoni joining their bench mix with Luke Raley and rookie Ben Williamson being left off.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Josh Naylor (groin) was held out of the Mariners’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s battle against the Dodgers.
Naylor was pulled from Friday’s game due to minor groin tightness, so it’s not surprising to see the Mariners give him an extra day to rest on Saturday. It sounds like he could return for Sunday’s regular season finale. Luke Raley will start in his place at first base and will bat seventh against Dodgers’ right-hander Tyler Glasnow on Saturday evening in Seattle.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Josh Naylor is absent from the Mariners’ starting lineup for Friday night’s contest against the Angels.
The 28-year-old slugger will get a well-deserved breather with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi toeing the slab for the Angels on Friday evening. Since joining the Mariners, Naylor is slashing .260/.306/.460 with eight homers, 21 RBI and 16 stolen bases (in 16 attempts) in his first 162 plate appearances. Luke Raley will start in his place at first base and bat eighth for the M’s on Friday night.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Josh Naylor is not in the Mariners’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Braves.
He’ll take a seat with tough opposing left-hander Chris Sale taking the mound for the Braves. Luke Raley will start in his place at first base and will bat ninth for the Mariners on Friday evening in Atlanta.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #20
Mariners activated 1B/OF Luke Raley from the 10-day injured list.
The 30-year-old slugger had been shelved since July 30 due to back spasms. He looked good on a recent minor league rehab assignment though and is ready to return and mash right-handed pitching once more. Miles Mastrobuoni was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move on Friday.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #20
Luke Raley (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
The expectation is that the 30-year-old will remain there through the weekend before being re-evaluated. If everything checks out, he could be ready to return to the Mariners in advance of Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles in Baltimore.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #20
Luke Raley (back) will resume hitting on Tuesday and could begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.
Raley hit the injured list last week with back spasms and shouldn’t need a ton of time to ramp back up now that the issue has been put to bed.
  • SEA Center Fielder #20
Mariners placed 1B/OF Luke Raley on the 10-day injured list with back spasms.
Raley will hit the shelf for at least a week, and it’ll be his second trip to the injured list in 2025. The 30-year-old will have his roster spot taken by Tyler Locklear.
  • SEA Center Fielder #20
Luke Raley is going on the IL with back stiffness, Mariners manager Dan Wilson said after Tuesday’s game.
This is the move that clears room for Tyler Locklear to make his season debut. Raley had already mostly fallen out of the picture for the Mariners following the Josh Naylor acquisition, and there was some thought that he might get traded. That’s probably off the table now.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Josh Naylor will start at first base and bat cleanup in his Mariners’ debut against Jose Soriano and the Angels on Friday evening in Los Angeles.
The 28-year-old slugger was acquired from the Diamondbacks on Thursday to add some more production to the middle of the Mariners’ lineup. Hitting behind Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh should give him plenty of chances to continue to be an elite run producer. Luke Raley will take a seat on Friday night with Dominic Canzone drawing the start in right field.
