Luke Voit has re-signed with the Rakuten Eagles of Japan for 2026.
Voit, the 2020 MLB home run leader while with the Yankees, spent 2024 and the beginning of 2025 in Mexico before heading to Japan in June and hitting .300/.384/.498 with 13 homers in 67 games for Rakuten. That’s a particularly impressive line in a JPL that hit .246/.307/.352 overall. He’s turning 35 in February, so he might well finish his career in Asia.

Luke Voit is signing with the Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
Voit heads overseas after a 36-game stint in the independent Mexican League where he batted .324 with 11 home runs. The 34-year-old was in camp last spring with the Mets, but didn’t make the club’s season-opening roster. He last appeared in the majors during the 2023 campaign when he got into 22 games for the Brewers.

The Mets are set to release first baseman/DH Luke Voit, according to Metsmerized’s Mike Mayer.
The 33-year-old has seen better days and finishes Mets camp with his worst Spring Training in his MLB career. Voit went 4-for-34 (.118 AVG) with 14 strikeouts and finished with a .455 OPS. Despite having plenty of major league experience, his performance this spring could be a tough sell for any team this season.

The Athletic’s Will Sammon reports Luke Voit, Tomás Nido, José Iglesias will not make the Mets’ Opening Day roster.
No real surprises here, despite all three having extensive major league experience. It’s likely that all three will wind up opting out to explore their options on the free agent market.

Mets signed 1B Luke Voit to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Voit is officially back with the Mets as a non-roster invitee and will attempt to win a spot on their season-opening roster over a younger alternative like Mark Vientos as a right-handed bench bat. He could wind up pushing DJ Stewart for at-bats at designated hitter as well. The 33-year-old journeyman slugger posted a .548 OPS with zero homers in 74 plate appearances last year for the Brewers, but obliterated the ball at the Triple-A level. There might be something left in the tank here.

The Mets are working on a minor league deal with Luke Voit, according to SNY’s Andy Martino.
This after just signing Ji-Man Choi to battle with DJ Stewart and Mark Vientos for DH duties. Voit spent time with the Mets’ Triple-A team last year. He also got into 22 games with the Brewers, hitting .221/.284/.265.

    Mets released 1B Luke Voit.
With the Mets deciding not to call-up Voit to their major league roster, the decision was made to release him from his contract so that he could pursue other opportunities. The 32-year-old had 14 home runs in 37 games with Triple-A Syracuse while hitting .264 with a 26.8 percent strikeout rate. At this point in his career he’s likely a power bat off of the bench and will try to find a team willing to give him that role.

Luke Voit homered in a third straight game for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
Voit is hitting .241/.390/.574 with 10 homers in 31 games since joining the Mets’ Triple-A affiliate. If the Mets don’t want to give him a shot in Mark Vientos’ place as a right-handed bat off the bench, some other team might want him as a DH option down the stretch.

Mets signed 1B Luke Voit to a minor league contract.
Voit gives the Mets some additional first base depth with All-Star Pete Alonso likely to miss at least the next 3-4 weeks with a left wrist injury. The 32-year-old slugger got into 22 games earlier this season with the Brewers, batting .221 (15-for-68) with zero homers and four RBI, before being released earlier this month. There’s a chance he gets some at-bats in New York over the next few weeks, but is unlikely to make a serious impact for fantasy managers.

    Brewers released 1B Luke Voit.
Voit was designated for assignment earlier this week and will now test free agency. The 32-year-old batted just .221/.284/.265 with zero homers through 74 plate appearances prior to hitting the injured list with a neck strain last month. He’ll surely get more chances, but his league-leading homer season with the Yankees feels like forever ago.
