    Blue Jays reassigned RHP’s Luke Bard, Matt Peacock, Junior Fernández and Bowden Francis and C’s Rob Brantly and Stevie Berman to minor league camp.

    No real surprises here but Bard and Fernández seem like the most likely to get the call to Toronto as extra bullpen depth at some point this season.

    Peacock went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with the Blue Jays as organizational relief depth. The 28-year-old righty has made nine relief appearances this season in the majors between the Diamondbacks and Royals.

    Peacock was claimed off waivers from the Royals last month and will officially join the Jays’ major league roster on Wednesday, presumably in a long relief role. He owns a career 4.95 ERA at the MLB level.

    Peacock was designated for assignment by Kansas City last Friday. The 28-year-old right-hander holds a career 4.95 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and 56/32 K/BB ratio in 96 1/3 total major league innings.

    Peacock joins the Royals with Josh Staumont landing on the 15-day injured list. The 28-year-old right-hander had given up two runs with six strikeouts over eight innings of work in his previous time with the Royals.

    The right-hander -- who has been stashed on the COVID-19 IL since May 30 -- will rejoin the Royals bullpen along with Gabe Speier on Friday night. He’ll return to a middle or long relief role.
