Michael Arroyo went 2-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Saturday as Colombia fell to Canada in World Baseball Classic action.
Arroyo is one of the top prospects in Seattle’s system and is getting a chance to lead off for Colombia during the international showcase. The 21-year-old second baseman projects as an impact fantasy contributor at second base in the near future thanks to his ability to generate above-average exit velocities while also possessing strong plate discipline.

Michael Arroyo homered and doubled in the Mariners’ 7-4 win over the Padres on Friday in Cactus League action.
Arroyo went opposite-field on a two-run shot off Jagger Haynes. His double was also hit to right field from the right side; showing off the 21-year-old’s impressive power potential. Arroyo is one of the best infield prospects in baseball, and while he doesn’t have the same kind of upside as a Colt Emerson, it would not be a massive upset if he reached the majors in 2026 He’s someone who has to be monitored in all eligible formats.
  • SEA Right Fielder #99
Mariners promoted OF prospect Lazaro Montes and 2B prospect Michael Arroyo to Double-A Arkansas.
Montes has torn the cover off the ball this season with a Northwest League-leading 18 home runs through 67 games. The 20-year-old slugging prospect has registered an impressive .268/.387/.572 triple-slash line for High-A Everett and will get his first taste of the upper minors as one of the youngest everyday players in the Texas League. He’s a top-30 range prospect for dynasty purposes with a real chance to finish closer to the top-20 range if he keeps hitting at the Double-A level. Meanwhile, Arroyo has hit .269/.422/.512 with 15 homers and three steals through 65 games. He’s one of the highest-ceiling future power sources at the keystone and is a surefire top-50 dynasty prospect at this stage of his development.

Mariners optioned RHP Cody Bolton to Triple-A Tacoma; reassigned INF Michael Arroyo, LHP Jhonathan Díaz, RHP Adonis Medina, RHP Luis F. Castillo, C Jacob Nottingham and C Nick Raposo to minor league camp.
Bolton was the lone player from Seattle’s 40-man roster exiting big-league camp in the latest round of cuts. Arroyo is one of the Mariners’ top prospects and should reach Double-A at some point in the next few months. Díaz and Medina figure to make it to Seattle at some point as emergency stopgap options.
