Diamondbacks acquired RHP Myles Smith from the Red Sox for RHP Zeke Spruill.
The D’Backs had to designate Spruill for assignment earlier in the week when announcing the Yasmany Tomas signing, so they appear to have flipped him for whatever they could before losing him. The 22-year-old hurler struggled mightily at Class-A Greenville in 2014, registering a 5.82 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 73/62 K/BB ratio over 103 2/3 innings.
