We recently learned that Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre played the entire second half of the regular season with a torn ligament in his left thumb. The veteran was finally able to have that taken care of, as he underwent surgery on Friday, per Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Beltre is expected to be ready for spring training.

Beltre, 36, somehow still hit better in the second half than in the first half. He posted a .604, .768, .508, and .738 OPS in the first four months of the season, but finished out with an .874 OPS in August and .957 in September/October. Overall, he compiled a .287/.334/.453 triple-slash line with 18 home runs and 83 RBI in 619 plate appearances.
