Brian Wilson has five offers

Giants Wilson Baseball

FILE - In this Oct. 27, 2012 file photo, San Francisco Giants’ Brian Wilson watches as the Giants take batting practice before Game 3 of baseball’s World Series against the Detroit Tigers in Detroit. The San Francisco Giants declined to tender a one-year contract to Wilson on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, making him a free agent as he recovers from a second ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow (AP Photo/Charlie Riedel, file)

The former Giants closer will soon have his pick of playoff contenders, it seems:

Former #SFGiants closer Brian Wilson has 5 offers-from 4 NL teams and 1 AL team with #Pirates and #Dbacks considered strong front runners.

Kinda hard to see how Wilson and Kirk Gibson would get along. But maybe Kirk Gibson is more wanting of relief help than no-nonsense grit these days. And maybe Wilson, so far removed from the spotlight, is going to be less of an eccentric than he once was.
