Twins outfielder Byron Buxton left last night’s game against the White Sox with an injury. The exact nature of the injury is unclear. MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger quotes manager Paul Molitor as saying that Buxton was removed from the game “after his hand slipped off his bat on a swing.” That could be any number of things. The Twins will examine him today and, presumably, provide an update.

Buxton has been a huge reason for the Twins’ August surge back into the playoff picture. He’s hitting .330/.366/.641 with eight home runs and 22 RBISince the All-Star break.
