Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports that veteran utilityman Chone Figgins will sign a one-day contract with the Angels on Monday and officially retire from baseball after spending parts of 12 seasons in the majors.

Figgins, 38, played with the Angels from 2002-09, putting together some very productive seasons including helping the club win the World Series in 2002. In 2005, he led all of baseball with 62 stolen bases while hitting .290/.352/.397.

Figgins spent the 2014 season with the Dodgers but hit a meager .217/.373/.267 in 76 plate appearances. He didn’t play last year.

Best of luck to Figgins as he hangs up his spikes.
